What are Superfoods?

Superfoods can be a wonderful addition to your lifestyle, try testing one or two out at a time and see what feels good in yoru body. Maca

Maca is an ancient Peruvian superfood that is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron and contains trace minerals including copper, zinc, silica and B vitamins. Maca is regarded as a powerful strength and stamina enhancer and also aids hormone regulation in women and assists libido and fertility. It is known to improve memory, combat anemia, fight chronic fatigue and depression.

Cacao

Cacao is one of the richest sources of anti oxidants and is the highest source of magnesium on earth. It is also high in fiber, B Vitamins, calcium and Vitamins A, C and D. Cacao improves cardio vascular health, lowers cholesterol, relaxes muscles, strengths bones and supports mental functioning.

The natural opiates in cacao prove to dull pain and increase energy, stamina and a sense of well being, giving you a natural lift or euphoric high.

Mesquite

Organic mesquite powder is rich in a number of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It has high levels of calcium, which is important for maintaining healthy hair, skin, and bone strength. It also is a rich source of dietary potassium, which is essential for proper water balance and healthy heart functioning. Superfood Hot Chocolate


Serves 1


Ingredients

1 teaspoon of raw cacao powder

1 teaspoon of maca powder

1 teaspoon of mesquite powder

1 teaspoon of coconut sugar

A pinch sea salt

A pinch cinnamon powder

A pinch cayenne pepper
(optional)

A pinch ginger powder

1 ½ cups almond milk


Directions

In a small saucepan add all of the ingredients except for the almond milk.


Pour enough boiling water over the ingredients to cover them and allow them to seep for a minute.


Top with your almond milk and heat gently on the stovetop until warm and creamy.

Enjoy with a sprinkle of cinnamon or extra cacao.
