ORGANIC SPIRULINA

ORGANIC CHLORELLA (CRACKED CELL)

ORGANIC MORINGA

ORGANIC ALFALA

Spirulina is an algae and is one of the most nutrient-dense and highest protein foods in the world and this powerful green has been used to increase energy levels ever since the Aztecs started harvesting it. It mightn’t be much to look at, but this makeup of amino acids is rich in iron, chlorophyll, calcium, thiamine and the popular folk remedy to treat swelling, Gamma–linolenic acid (GLA), otherwise known as the “king’s cure-all”. We think it’s nature’s gem, as its primary active component is phycocyanin, which acts as a powerful antioxidant and helps fight inflammation and regulate the immune system.

Chlorella is similar to spirulina (but this smaller algae only grows in freshwater), however most believe it claims boasting rights as it has the highest density of chlorophyll of any known plant. Due to its unique chlorella growth factor it’s the world’s fastest-growing plant and quadruples its size every day, which means it’s increasingly powerful when ingested and is known to repair damaged nerve tissues and cells. This super-active antioxidant captures and removes heavy metals, preservatives and free radicals; and it’s also packed with omega-threes (they’re the good fats).

The drought-resistant Moringa oleifera plant, native to India, has historically been called a “miracle tree” and was valued by ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans alike due to its antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Extracting the leaves from this resilient subtropical flora contains a wealth of vitamins, minerals, nutrients and powerful antioxidants that studies have shown it to be effective in maintaining optimal levels of cholesterol and blood pressure throughout our bodies.

It’s no wonder Alfalfa has long been used by Chinese and Ayurvedic medicines to aid digestion, as this “father of all foods” contains almost all the vitamins, minerals and trace elements needed for good health as its roots penetrate up to 40 metres deep into Mother Earth. Its sprouts are packed with vitamin K and it’s a powerful cleanser and diuretic that can reduce appetite and weight loss.

ST MARY’S THISTLE

St Mary’s thistle is known as the “liver elixir” as its main active ingredient, silymarin, is known to repair, regenerate and detoxify the liver. It’s high in glutathione, which prevents cellular damage in our bodies (while some swear by its anti-ageing effects) as it assists with bile flow from the liver and breaks down fats so they can be used as well as a free radical scavenger. So it’s a winner as it breaks down and expels all that unwanted lifestyle and pollution in our bodies, while protecting the good cells and regenerating the damaged ones.

ORGANIC BROCCOLI

The long-celebrated broccoli is very high in phytonutrients, a substance which acts as an anti-inflammatory and prevents diseases; in particular, broccoli has the flavonoid kaempferol, which reduces the impact of allergic triggers on the body. Broccoli also contains glucosinolates, and these bitter-tasting, sulfur-containing compounds protect the liver from damage by increasing levels of liver detoxifying enzymes. This veggie continues to weave its sulfur-rich magic with the phytochemical Sulforaphane, which has been shown to strengthen our loving hearts, as well as fight cancer and ageing.

ORGANIC CELERY LEAF

The simple and ancient celery stick boasts more than a dozen antioxidant nutrients and two-dozen anti-inflammatory compounds; it’s not only rich in vitamins A, K and C but packs alkalising minerals like magnesium and iron to neutralise any acidic foods in your diet — and with a very low GI index to keep your blood sugar levels humming low, it’s hard to say a bad word about it.

ORGANIC PEPPERMINT

While recent studies have investigated the link between peppermint and gastrointestinal health in our colons, and in particular its use in treating irritable bowels, this wonder herb is also used to combat colds and headaches, alleviate cravings and aid concentration, sleep patterns and feelings of wellbeing. Peppermint is a relative newcomer to good living as it was only discovered two-and-a-half centuries ago, and is actually a watermint-spearmint hybrid, in keeping with the times it made the blend.

ORGANIC LIME PEEL

Many throw citrus peels away and while you should if they’re not organic as it would probably contain chemicals and pesticides, however the organic peel is ultra-alkaline and dense in vitamin C — this helps our bodies absorb all that iron that we need — and potassium. Its benefits are many, as it helps our hearts stay healthy by cleansing our arteries, aids a healthy complexion and reduces risks associated with asthma and stroke.

L-GLUTAMINE

L – Glutamine is an essential amino acid that heals tissue in our bodies and facilitates a healthy immune system. It is one of the most important nutrients for a healthy digestive tract due to its ability to maintain the integrity of the intestinal wall; therefore its important in preventing ‘leaky gut’ and maintaining a barrier between the gut and rest of our bodies. This means it facilitates the absorption of the good stuff while stopping those much-maligned toxins from spreading and interfering with our vitality.

ORGANIC STEVIA LEAF

Stevia leaf made the cut as a low-calorie and natural sweetener to make this organic and green potion extra-tasty. While much research is currently being undertaken to test benefits to blood sugar levels and cholesterol, what we know is that it has helped many lose weight and facilitate a healthy lifestyle.
